WHY: Icons of photography are extraordinary pictorial records of contemporary history. They stand out from the mass of works and imprint themselves upon our collective memory. They concentrate events and capture the essence of what really matters. These are pictures taken in that one and only “perfect moment,” in which all parameters – light, subject, composition and emotion – work together in an ideal manner. As highlights in the history of photography, these iconic images find their ideal subjects in the Mercedes-Benz brand.
Nothing has been so assiduously photographed over the years as motor cars and fashionable clothing. In its history of over 125 years, the inventor of the automobile, Mercedes-Benz, has inspired countless extraordinary icons in photography.
